Sweat Sets Season

Hiya friends! Welcome back! If you would have asked 12-year-old Jamila to wear sweatpants out in public she would have asked you if you're crazy. I have always been a full blown girly-girl. I used to show up to my cousin's house on a regular day wearing pink frilly dresses and little dress shoes. Now, the thought of wearing a dress for any occasion at all stresses me out. I'm not sure when I turned into a jeans/joggers girl but there's no turning back now and I love it. Don't get me wrong I am still 100% a girls girl, but now I'm just a girls girl that rolls her eyes at the idea of having to wear a dress. We can be anything we want to be ladies. I think growing up I was under the impression that I had to sacrifice comfort in order to look cute. The older I got the more I realized that could not be further from the truth. I strongly believe that it's not about what you wear but how you wear it. Also, it's important (for me at least) to stock up on comfies because as it gets colder and we continue to deal with this pandemic, cute at-home clothes are a necessity. As I've mentioned before, as much as I love jeans, I am not someone who can fathom wearing them at home all day.

Sweat sets have been such a huge trend this past year and don't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. I personally, could not be happier about it. Honestly, even if the trend fades away, I will still be living in these. Nothing beats the joy I feel from being all cozied up in a cute matching set. I wore a shorts set from this brand in a post a few months ago which I loved so I decided to try a joggers set for the colder months. I am obsessed. So much so that as soon as I tried these on, I immediately ordered it in another color. Sometimes joggers tend to look a little funky on me if the shape isn't right. I don't have that problem with these at all so I figured it's better to stick to what I know works. I styled this set with a trench, sneakers, and layered a turtleneck underneath (shocker). Pro tip* always size up one or two sizes when buying a trench to make room for layering and oversized sweaters. If you're not one for the oversized look and prefer your clothes to be fitted then disregard this tip and carry on as you normally would. All outfit details (or similar) are linked below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
