Hi friends! Welcome back! If you remember, in last week's post, I talked about the color yellow and how trending it is right now. I also mentioned a gorgeous yellow trench that I just bought. Well, here she is. Was I lying? Did you not nearly choke on your drink at the sight of it? This is definitely one of my favorite purchases of all time. I know I say this a lot about a lot of different pieces I own, but that's because it's true for all of them. To me, there are few feelings better than having pieces in your wardrobe that you love and can rewear for years and years. This is definitely going to be one of those for me.
I spent a decent amount of time contemplating whether or not I should buy this trench because as much as I LOVED the color, I wanted to make sure it would work well with several different pieces in my wardrobe. I didn't want to make the same mistake I've made time and time again, which is impulse purchasing something trendy without considering how often I'm actually going to wear it which leads to me wearing it once or not wearing it at all. After careful consideration, I decided I need this coat in my life. I realized that most of my outfits consist of the same base: jeans and a white tee. This shade of yellow works perfectly for that and will easily become a timeless staple in my closet for many spring seasons to come. Also, I just purchased a dictionary of color combinations to help me find cool and different ways to style it if I want to switch things up. I feel like this will be a great tool for when I'm stumped while trying to put an outfit together.
For this beauty's first outing, I decided to stick with my usual base and then I added a little slingback kitten heel and a pair of white cat eye sunnies. This definitely my favorite outfit in a while! All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
