Hi friends! Welcome back! This post is a SUPER exciting one. As you can see from the above photos, this past weekend my amazing friends and family threw me the most incredible surprise bridal shower ever! I knew I was going to be having a shower but when, where, and who would be attending were all a mystery to me. I know some people don't like surprises, but I personally love them. Planning events has always been a bit of a challenge for me because I get so overwhelmed and anxious that eventually I just kind of shut down. That being said, planning a wedding has not been an easy feat. When my Matron of Honor asked me if I wanted my bridal shower to be a surprise, I jumped at the opportunity to not have any involvement in even one of the steps of this process. Honestly, it was the best decision I could have made.

Our wedding is on July 15th of this year so I knew my bridal shower would be happening at some point soon, but when was the question. A couple of months ago I told both my mom and Jason to figure out a way to make sure my hair, makeup and nails were done on the day of the shower without ruining the surprise. I had no idea how they would pull that off, but I knew that if anyone could do it, it's them. So here's how it all went down: a few weeks ago my mom told me that my hairstylist wants to do a trial on Friday, May 20th which made sense to me because the hairstyle I want for our wedding day is different from anything I have gotten before. Nothing fishy at all about that to me. Then, Jason said he had a bunch a fun activities planned for us on the weekend, starting with brunch at one of our favorite French restaurants. This also seemed normal to me because my birthday was on the Tuesday before (the 17th). My nails were done because Jason asked me if I wanted to get them done a couple of weeks ago, also for my birthday. Why would I turn that down, right? So anyway, fast forward to Saturday, the 21st. This was the day that Jason said he made a brunch reservation. I got all dolled up, excited for my bday brunch and when we arrived, he told me that we had to go straight to the patio area in the back which also was normal to me because we always ate back there. Looking back on it, what should have given it away was that even though we always sit back there, we have always had to "check-in" inside the restaurant. Also, side note, I texted my mom when we were on our way to brunch because at 31-years-old I still tell my mom what I’m doing at all times. She texted me back saying, "Hola baby. Enjoy your brunch. Send pics 😘.” Oh, she’s good. So anyway, when we walked up to the restaurant I noticed that the inside was completely empty but I thought, "Oh that must be why we have to check-in outside, there must be an event going on inside today." As we turned the corner towards the back patio, I saw a sea of my family and friends and the most beautiful setup ever and it took everything in me not to cry. There was an event going on, but it just happened to be mine!

My mom had my outfit at-the-ready because I gave everything to her a few weeks prior, so I changed in the bathroom as soon as I got there and the rest of the day was absolutely incredible. I have no idea how they pulled it all off but it was the most perfectly executed surprise, aside from Jason's proposal of course. I cannot thank my mom, future mother-in-law, my Matron of Honor, my bridesmaids, and everyone who attended/sent us gifts enough for making me feel so loved and special. It was one of the best days of my life and I will cherish this memory for life. If this is any indication of how our wedding day is going to go, I don't know how I'm going to be able to keep it together. Life hasn't been easy the past couple of years, but having such phenomenal friends and family has made me realize that even in the toughest of times, as long as you have the love and support of the people around you, you can get through anything. I am just SO happy!

Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.

Hi friends! Welcome back! In typical New Jersey fashion, the weather has basically gone from winter to summer with only about a day or two of spring in between. It was 80 degrees today and my brain said, "Bring out the shorts girl. It's time." One of the things I look forward to the most when it starts getting warmer is wearing shorts. I normally tend to stick to denim shorts, but I have been very into the trending short sets lately. I ordered this one back in the fall but I haven't been able to wear it because it started to get cold as soon as I purchased it. Needless to say, I couldn't wait until it got warm enough for me to take this set out for a spin. Today was that day.

I started noticing a lot of influencers wearing short sets last summer and I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first. By the time I decided I loved them and purchased one of my own, summer was over. Thankfully, the trend seems to be here to stay, at least for this summer, and I'm here for it. I'm sure we can all agree that when it comes to dressing for summer, we want to be stylish, but we also want easy and breathable as well. In my last blog post, I talked about linen being your best friend during the summer months. The same can be said about cotton. You all know how much I love the easiness of throwing on a 100% cotton poplin shirt in the spring/summer, but having matching shorts too? Game changer. If you're looking for style, comfort and breathability when it comes to your summer wardrobe, look no further.

All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.

Hi friends! Welcome back! With the weather officially starting to warm up (finally!), I thought I would share one of my favorite items to wear during the warmer months: linen shirts. As we start heading into summer, my main priority is making sure I am as comfortable as possible in the heat. Personally, when it's scorching hot, the last thing I want is anything touching me which makes it pretty difficult to put together cute outfits. Linen shirts are perfect for this dilemma because, as far as materials go, you won't find anything more breathable or lightweight.

I was kindly gifted this gorgeous shirt and these stunning earrings from NA-KD, a brand that I absolutely love. Believe it or not, as much as I love them, I have never actually owned a linen shirt, at least not that I can remember. This was the year that I decided it was time to add one to my wardrobe and I could not have chosen a better brand to be my first. The quality of this shirt is incredible and the shorter length makes it really easy to tuck into virtually any high waisted bottom. When it gets extremely warm out, I'll style it with denim shorts, but for this look, I went with good ol' fashion jeans. I mean, did you really expect anything different from me?

Another important, and often neglected, part of an outfit is accessories, specifically jewelry. This goes for every season, but I especially love accessorizing in the spring/summer because it's a fun way to spruce up your outfit when the heat restricts how many clothes you can comfortably wear. I immediately fell in love with these earrings when I saw them online, and they did not disappoint in real life. I thought it would be cute to style them with my new linen shirt and I could not be happier with how it all turned out. It's giving me "90's fashion girl" and I am here for it! I would wear this outfit every day if I could.
