Fall Trend Spotlight: Stripes

Hi friends! Welcome back! How are we feeling about stripes this season? I know it can be a bit "eye-rolly" when a trend is so popular that it seems like everyone is wearing the same thing, but I think there's something fun about it too. It almost feels like we're all part of the same club. Like we're all in this together. It's like when you're out and see someone wearing the same thing as you and you get excited about it. Is that just me? Don't get me wrong, there are definitely some popular trends that I really cannot get down with and cringe every time I see someone wearing them. It's the timeless ones that you can wear every day, a million different ways, that steal my heart. Stripes is one of them.

I haven't been shopping as much as I usually do this time of year because I feel like I'm finally at a point in my life where I feel really content and, dare I say, even excited about the pieces in my closet. I haven't felt like I have nothing to wear in a long time and that is a fantastic feeling. At this point I think it's safe to say that I have enough blazers and staples to last me a lifetime. There are one or two coats and a couple of shoes/boots I want to add to my wardrobe but thankfully Christmas is around the corner and so I don't plan on buying those for myself either *smirks*. If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw the few items I have purchased in my stories. One of them is this gorgeous striped sweater. I'm weirdly picky and specific about striped sweaters so it took me a while to decide on what I considered the perfect one. I don't like stripes that are too thick or if the placement of them seems off to me. I also don't like them too short because I like having the option to wear them with leggings (this goes for all of my sweaters). Another issue I have is that sometimes they can look like a Halloween prisoner's costume which just doesn't work for me. This one met all of my criteria. I tucked it under my bra for the purpose of this outfit, but the actual length stops well below the bum, which I love, and the thin stripes are just so chic to me. I styled it with a pair of black jeans, converse, a baseball cap, and the OG fall favorite: a trench coat. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
