Basic, But Stylish

Hi friends! Welcome back! This week's look is one of those "I have no idea what to wear but the show must go on" looks. Usually, at the beginning of every season, I feel so much pressure to bring my A game when it comes to outfit styling. While I love challenging myself to be creative with my looks, it can definitely lead to styling burnout. Instead of having fun, I just end up getting overwhelmed and stressed which leads to me disliking every single outfit I put together. In this case, I chose to go easy on myself. It's still a little chilly here in NJ, which makes styling for spring a little tricky, at least for the looks I want to create. So, instead of beating myself up about it, I decided to do what I do best: throw some casual basics together and make them look chic.

One of my favorite timeless spring pieces are denim jackets/shirts. There are so many trends that come and go, but denim is just not one of them. You guys already know about my love for jeans, but there's just something about a denim jacket (oversized of course) that I just can't get enough of. In the last couple of years, denim shirts have become a staple piece as well which I love because they're not as bulky as the standard denim jacket, but they still have that rigid denim material that makes them feel like a light jacket instead of a shirt. I've had this one for about a year and it is one of my go-to items to throw on over jeans and shorts. This time, I styled it with distressed black jeans, a bodysuit, and Converse. Super simple and comfy, but still very fashionable. Perfect for when you have a full day of errands ahead but you still want to feel cute.

All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
