An Unexpected Staple

Hi friends! Welcome back! Have you ever made a purchase or received a gift that you loved and planned to keep forever, but assumed it would just be something you only wear/use occasionally but then it ends up being a closet staple? That's this coat for me. This is not the first time you guys have seen me style this coat and it certainly will not be the last. My hubs bought this for me two Christmases ago. It was something I had on my list but it wasn't at the top and it was also a little pricey so I wasn't really expecting to get it. Being the amazing husband he is, he not only purchased my number one item, but he also got me this coat and to say I was beyond excited would be an understatement. However, for whatever reason, I thought it would be a coat that I only wore for specific occasions because I wasn't sure how easily it would match with other items in my wardrobe. Fast forward to over a year later and it's definitely become a staple coat for me. As you all have noticed, when I'm not wearing neutrals, I'm most likely wearing pink (or orange) and this coat has proven to be the perfect piece to style with those fun colors. For that reason, I've gotten so much use out of it.

I usually go for brighter, more saturated shades of pink, but this week, I decided to switch things up and go with a more pale pink. I'm very unpredictable guys. Also, I've always been someone who wears tights/stockings underneath their jeans/pants when it's super cold out, but I usually hide them by wearing boots. I recently saw an influencer wearing their denim with tights and heels and I loved how it looked so I decided to give it a shot myself and I loved it. Just a fair warning though, if you're going to do this, maybe use a pair of shoes that fits you perfectly or is even slightly too small. These heels have always fit me without an issue and as soon as I tried to walk in them with sheer tights, my foot slipped right out and I nearly landed on my face. Fashion can be a dangerous industry ladies. We gotta look out for each other.
