A Day In Dumbo

Hi friends! Welcome back! At this point I've accepted that until it warms up, I'm going to be wearing the same basic uniform of jeans, a white tee and a light/medium weight jacket. I found that the best thing to do when you're in a transitional outfit funk is to just wear what you feel best in, even if that means wearing slightly different variations of the same outfit. As they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

These photos were taken in Dumbo, which is located in Brooklyn, NY. I had never been and it was a beautiful day so my husband and I decided to take a day trip into the city to explore the neighborhood. One of my favorite parts about living in Jersey, North Jersey specifically, is the close proximity to NYC. As much as I love the city, it can get overwhelming after a while so it's really nice to be able to take a short drive across the bridge, spend the day, and then get back to quiet NJ when I decide I'm over the chaos. I wore my usual uniform with a new vintage leather jacket I got from eBay recently and the most comfortable sneakers I have ever put on my feet. I stalked these on the Zara website for several weeks until they became available and boy was it worth the wait. I love flat sneakers like this for the spring/summer. They look so good with jeans, shorts, dresses, skirts, you name it. They're great for when you want to wear a casual, comfortable shoe without sacrificing your chic-ness.
