Tomboy-Chic

Hi friends! Welcome back! I know a lot of people are not a fan of women in oversized/loose clothing but, as I get older, I find myself being more and more drawn to that look. It started with blazers, then it became jackets/coats, then sweaters/cardigans, and now the baggy clothes infection has made its way down to my jeans. I never thought that would be the case, but here we are. There's something about a full baggy, tomboy-esque look that's so chic to me. Look up Hailey Bieber's casual looks and you'll know exactly what I mean.

I think the key to perfecting a top to bottom baggy look is proportions. Really, the key to nailing any look is proportions. For example, for this outfit, since both my jacket and jeans are on the larger side, I went for a really fitted top and a sleek pair of sneakers. There is a thin line between cute and sloppy when it comes to looser fitting outfits so it's important to make sure your proportions make sense. If I decided to wear an oversized sweater and a chunky pair of shoes, I would have crossed the line and landed on the sloppy side. Also, when I'm going for a mostly oversized look, I like to add some cool accessories. Layering your necklaces is a great way to make your look a little more interesting, and of course, I am always a fan of throwing on a cute baseball cap, especially one with a fun logo or quote. 21-year-old me would die at the thought of me wearing anything that wasn't skin tight, but that's the beauty of fashion, it's constantly changing and evolving and I, for one, live for it.
