Hi friends! Welcome back! One of the things I struggle with when it comes to my personal style and fashion blogging is the constant pressure to keep up with other fashion girls that I admire. What I mean by that is that there are so many influencers on social media with amazing style. I look at their outfits and think, "that's how I want to dress." The problem with that is that a) what works for one person may not work for another and b) I would go broke if I bought every single item of clothing that I wanted. I find myself trying to recreate a lot of the looks that I love, but it just never comes out the same so I end up feeling discouraged. Here's the thing: It doesn't come out the same because it's not supposed to. I started this blog because I wanted to share MY personal style. It completely defeats the purpose if I'm trying to look like someone else right? So this is my message to myself to stop it. It's great to seek inspiration from people you admire, but it's important not to get lost in that.
This week's outfit prompted me to dive into this topic because I sometimes feel like the outfits I love to wear aren't very exciting. I fear being boring or too casual but, at the end of the day, this is what I love. My personal style, the outfits that make me feel the most like me, the most stylish, consist of jeans and oversized tops. I'm not a sultry all leather look type of girl and while I absolutely love that for other girls, it's just not me. You know what is me? This outfit. I was living in all my cozy teddy bear glory and nobody could tell me anything. You can't beat being comfortable and stylish at the same time and that's always my ultimate goal. What's the point of spending your hard-earned money on items you don't feel comfortable in just to keep up with other people? Anyway, all outfit details are listed below.
