Hi friends! Welcome back! With winter quickly approaching us, I'm excited to start wearing big, long coats again. Have you guys seen that post floating around that says something about how when we were younger we thought our coats ruined our outfits, but now that we're older the coat IS the outfit? That is 1,000% how I feel. These days, when it comes to my winter style, it is extremely important for me to have chic coats to throw over my outfits. Of course, warmth matters more than anything but being stylish is always my main priority. Luckily, with the amount of amazing coats being sold, you can easily have both style and warmth. My go-to coat style in the colder months is long and oversized in a thick wool/wool blend. You guys know I love the feeling of an extremely oversized blazer, well, the same goes for coats. I obviously don't want to be drowning in my coat because that's never cute, but when it's just oversized enough to layer a super thick sweater or a blazer underneath and still have a lot of arm room...that's the perfect coat to me. This coat checks every single one of those boxes.
My husband (omg I still can't believe I'm married!) bought this coat for me last Christmas and it is still my absolute favorite coat that I own. The style, shape and length are just absolute perfection to me. If I could wear it every day, I would. It's easy to style and makes every outfit a million times more chic. I definitely do need to layer underneath a bit to make it completely warm but, again, the beauty of it being oversized is that I can do that with no problem and once I do, I'm as cozy as can be. For this look, I styled it with a grey blazer, a white turtleneck, jeans and knee high boots. All items that I already owned before the month of November. Okay guys, full transparency regarding #nospendnovember...I failed. I did buy a couple of small inexpensive items on Black Friday. I mean whose idea was it to create this challenge during the month of Black Friday? That's a pretty cruel joke if you ask me. I also bought some gifts though so at least most of my purchases were for other people, right? Anyway, stay tuned for more (and basically all) coat looks as it continues to get colder out. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
