Fashion Faux Pas
Hi friends! Welcome back! We are officially back to regular fall temps so your girl is back with another shacket. I know these are supposed to be more of a fall staple item but I’m definitely going to be bringing them into the winter. The long ones at least. In my opinion, these are more of a coat and with the right amount of layering underneath they can really keep you warm. Luckily, the ones from H&M run huge so layering isn‘t an issue at all. Seriously, you can probably wear a turtleneck, a sweatshirt, & a super thick cardigan underneath this all at once and still have room for more. Somehow, even with it being extremely oversized, it manages to be so flattering.
So to be honest, I struggled a little with styling this one. I knew I wanted to wear a turtleneck but didn’t want to do the usual black, which would probably have been the best choice for this shacket. I decided I wanted to wear a chocolate brown one because it would go perfectly with one of my new flannels. Then I encountered two major problems. One, I literally do not own one pair of brown shoes. Not boots, not sneakers (nobody wears brown sneakers but still), not heels, not flats. Nothing. Two, the jeans I decided to wear were cropped which limited my options for shoes even more. I feel like with cropped jeans/pants I either need to wear sandals (too cold for that), flats/loafers, or boots that are tall enough to fit under the bottom of my pants. Anything else just makes me look stumpy. Anyway, I didn't have time to rethink my entire outfit so I had to work with what I had. In the end, I decided my black sock boots were the best option and I think the look turned out pretty good. I know the brown and black combo is taboo in the fashion world but this is a crucial lesson. The lesson I have been trying to teach since I started this blog. There are no rules in fashion. Wear whatever you want. As long as you feel confident and comfortable, you can make anything work. All outfit details are listed below as always. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo
