Wear Your Clothes!

whatjamloves

Hi friends! Welcome back! I feel like I've been a broken record lately about shopping less and making the most out of what's in your wardrobe and unfortunately, this week's post is no different. I think of it as making up for years of impulse shopping and wasting money and inadvertently convincing you guys to do the same. It's wasteful, irresponsible, and honestly just unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, shopping is my favorite thing to do and that will never change, but mindful and intentional shopping is the key.

Which brings me to the point of this post which is outfit repeating. Admittedly, I am someone who worries about repeating outfits out of fear that someone will notice and call me out. We're done with that in 2025. If I like an outfit and I feel good in it, I'm proudly going to wear it again. The fun part about outfit repeating is that it doesn't have to be the same exact outfit from head to toe if you don't want it to be. You can switch up and swap out different elements to create an outfit that looks completely different. For example, I wore this look a few weeks ago and I felt so chic and confident in it so I knew it wanted to wear it (or some variation of it) again soon. I also recently styled this cropped faux fur jacket and knew I wanted to wear that again soon too. So, instead of telling myself "you just wore those pieces recently and everyone's going to notice," which I usually do, I told myself, "just mix, match and swap." Wait, I just came up with that on my own and I'm really impressed with myself.

Anyway, this past weekend I went to a live taping of a comedy show starring Brett Goldstein with my mom and husband and since I knew there was a chance I would be on TV I wanted to make sure I looked camera ready. This was the perfect opportunity to repeat the aforementioned pieces. I kept the base of the first outfit (black turtleneck and black jeans), wore my fur jacket over the turtleneck, and since the jacket has brown undertones, I swapped the black belt with a brown suede belt and the black boots with brown suede boots. There you have it. A repeated outfit, done completely differently. At this point, this has turned into a full blown essay so, in conclusion, wear your clothes and repeat the outfits you love! You'd be surprised how many different ways you can restyle them.

All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
