Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday week. Mine was really nice and relaxing, but I'm actually glad that we're officially back into "work" mode. I can't believe I just said that but hear me out. I know we all joke about the week between Christmas and NYE being a blur, but I really do not like that feeling at all. The feeling of not knowing what day it is in combination with the week taking forever to end is very stressful for me. I'm pretty sure I thought it was Saturday when it was Wednesday. This holiday was especially "blurry" because of the fact that I spent almost every single day of it at home. Complaints aside, I really did have a great week. I got to spend some time with my mom on Christmas/her birthday. One of my best friends got engaged to her high school sweetheart. Jason and I spent our days on the couch binging shows and watching movies. Also, I got some amazing gifts, which brings me to today's look.
The number one item on my Christmas Wishlist was this trench coat. One of the shows we've been binging is the X-Files and I obsess over Scully's coat collection. They're all so perfectly chic and oversized. I came across this trench while I was browsing online and nearly fainted. Dramatic? Maybe, but I mean can you blame me? Just look at it. It reminded me so much of a trench Scully had on in one of the episodes and when I saw it I just knew I needed one in my wardrobe. It's a little on the pricey end but it's one of those coats that will last you a lifetime and will never go out of style. Anyway, Christmas day came and my sweet love blessed me with the coat of my dreams. It is just as perfect in person as it looked online. I styled it with all black underneath and I can confidently say that this is my favorite outfit to date. This year is already off to a great start! All outfit details are listed below.
