The Happiest Color

Hi friends! Welcome back! In honor of the first day of spring being 2 days ago, I decided to wear what might quite possibly be the brightest color you can wear without getting into neon territory. I've always been a fan of yellow and orange on darker skin tones. Obviously, I don't mean these colors don't look good on lighter skin tones as well, but as someone who is a somewhat darker skin tone, I find that these colors really pop! This season, I've vowed to do a deep dive into the world of color and I couldn't be more thrilled about it. I've honestly always been someone who loved wearing fun colors and I feel like I let the pressure of keeping up with the "neutral only" fashion girls change that. Needless to say, I am beyond excited about how much bright, saturated colors are trending right now. For some weird reason, it makes me feel hopeful that it's going to be a great spring/summer.

One of my favorite feelings is when I plan an outfit in my head and it looks exactly how I envisioned it when I put it on. It sounds silly but, trust me, it is very frustrating when you get excited about an outfit and you're so sure it'll look good, but then when you try it on you look like a potato. Now you have to dig around for something else to wear and no matter what it is, you'll hate it because it's not what you wanted to wear. Not a good time. So, when I tried this outfit on and it looked exactly the way I pictured it, I was elated! It was one of those outfits that's very simple and easy to put together, but just the color alone will have heads turning everywhere you go. In a good way.

I love lightweight oversized button downs in the spring/summer months. As basic as they are, they somehow elevate your look, especially when they're in fun bright colors. I have a closet full of them and I plan to live in them all. I recently bought this orange one and I love it! I also recently purchased these sandals which might be my new favorites. Your girl loves a square toe and the heel height/shape is just perfect! I wasn't planning on wearing the pink purse, but I decided at the last minute that it would be a cute addition to the look and I'm happy with the result!

All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
