Hi friends! Welcome back! A few weeks ago I talked about how much I've been loving the crochet trend this summer. Well, honestly I've just been in love with summer knits in general. Maybe it's because they remind me of fall/winter fashion which we all know is when I thrive the most. Don't get me wrong, I am still very much soaking up the rest of this summer and I'm not quite ready to pull out the sweaters and jackets just yet, but I feel like it's fun to add little bits of fall fashion pieces to your outfits and make them work for the summer.
This sweater vest belonged to my husband's grandfather and it's one of my favorite vintage pieces. I never thought to wear it on its own as a vest in the summer, but I randomly thought of this outfit and I love how it turned out. I was going for a relaxed look so I styled it with a pair of loose fit ripped denim shorts, and some loafers. I was worried I would be too hot given that this vest is pretty thick, but I was super comfortable in it even on an 85 degree day. This is your reminder to go shopping in your closet and play with some older unlikely pieces. You never know what cute looks you might come up with!
