Hi friends! Welcome back! Last week a few of my blogger friends teamed up on Instagram to style our favorite denim trends for the spring. One of my personal favorites is mid-length shorts, which I talked about briefly a couple of posts ago. I will be 30 in less than a week so at my age, there are certain articles of clothing that I just don't feel comfortable or confident in anymore. Super short shorts are definitely high up on that list. Thankfully, shorts with longer hems are becoming more and more popular. I also feel like longer hems just look a lot more chic when it comes to dressing up your shorts. I am someone who wears shorts literally all summer long. I'm not much of a skirt or dress girl, but I do love to dress up which is hard to do in super short cut offs in my opinion. They just don't give me the same chic-ness (not a word) that mid-length/Bermuda shorts do. Am I making sense?
So for the denim style session I put together a "late spring/early summer date night" look. I added an extra look for the purpose of this blog post. For the first outfit, I styled my absolute favorite shorts with a white cropped tank top, an oversized tan blazer, and matching heeled sandals. The second look is pretty similar but slightly more casual. I styled a more fitted, more distressed pair of mid-length shorts with a graphic tee, a black blazer and black heeled sandals. The first look would be my go-to outfit for a nice outdoor dinner date. I would probably wear the second look for brunch/lunch with the girls. Now that I'm finally starting to get back out into the world, I'm mentally planning outfits for every outdoor activity that I feel comfortable attending. I spent a whole year planning outfits solely for blogging and giving you guys style tips, so it feels so weird to actually have places to wear these outfits. What a time, huh?
