Welcome back friends! I'm dedicating this post to my newfound love: the shacket. If you follow me on Instagram then you know that in the last couple weeks I've literally gotten 4 different shackets from H&M. For those of you who don't know what a shacket is, it's a shirt that can also be worn as a jacket because the material is a lot thicker than a shirt. It's one of the fall's biggest trends right now and I am obsessed. As much as I like to think that I don't follow trends too much, I'm human and an immense fashion lover so it's hard not to fall into the trap sometimes. In order to keep my spending at bay when it comes to trends that I love, I try to stick to the ones that I can easily wear over and over. Shackets are 100% that. How many times do you think I'll use the word shacket before this post is over?
Since we haven't fully reached fall temps yet, I decided to start off this series with the most lightweight shacket I purchased. I'm going to be completely transparent with you guys. I seriously struggled with styling this one. I am in full blown fall mode mentally but the weather isn't on the same page as me so I wasn't able to style this the way I really wanted to. We're officially in that in between period where it's still hot during the day, but only in the sun, and then it's chilly at night. So, what do I wear? After like 6 different try ons, I settled on this look which worked out pretty perfectly for the weather. A great way to transition from summer to fall, especially when you aren't quite ready to give up your denim shorts just yet, is to layer up on top. Throw on a blazer, shacket, overshirt, or jacket over a t shirt or tank top for an effortlessly stylish look. Being able to easily take off a layer when you get too hot is important for this time of year. If you're going for super casual and it's a little chillier out, you can opt for a sweatshirt too.
