No Spend November: Pt. 1

Hi friends! Welcome back! I don't think I mentioned this in last week's post, but this month I decided to participate in #nospendnovember. If you're not aware of what that is, the explanation is in the the hashtag itself. Basically all through the month of November I can't spend any money on anything clothing related or non-essential to basic, everyday living. It honestly hasn't been as challenging as I thought it would be. My wardrobe is finally in a place where I feel like I have such amazing staple pieces that I can mix and match items I already own and create various outfits that I love. Okay, I'm going to be completely honest. I did have ONE minor slip up, which is the purse featured in today's post, but to be fair to myself it was a steal and I desperately needed a good, everyday shoulder bag. I still think I'm kicking butt with this challenge regardless of this teeny tiny hiccup. So, throughout this whole month, every single thing I have on (not including this purse) will be purchases that were made prior to November.

Last week was a tough one for me when it came to choosing an outfit for this post. Every now and then I hit a styling rut where I start to feel like all of my outfits are too similar because I naturally gravitate towards the same items in my closet (blazers, trench coats, jeans, basic shirts, and sneakers/boots). The more I try to switch things up and try something new, the more I feel like everything I'm putting on looks horrible on me. Ultimately, I always end up falling right back into my comfort zone and regardless of how similar the outfit might feel, it's what I feel my best in. I never feel more stylish than when I'm wearing jeans, a fitted top or t-shirt, and an oversized blazer/coat. I'm not a dress/skirt kinda girl and that's okay. I started this blog wearing jeans and a t-shirt and I'm sure it will end the same way. What's the point of making the risky decision of quitting a job to pursue your passion if you're not going to be true to yourself throughout that journey? So, anyway, I actually came up with two outfits. One, was this trench coat look featuring my favorite trench that I will wear for the rest of my life every chance I get. The other, I decided to save for next week's post so stay tuned for that. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums!
