Hi Friends! Welcome back! Look guys, I didn't intentionally set out to kill it with my coat game this year, but here we are. I don't know if I've been seriously missing out all of these years or if the coats this season are just next level, but I have been a coat buying machine and I've never felt more stylish. In previous years, I relied on the same 2-3 coats to get me through the cold months. I loved the coats I wore, but they didn't always go with everything I wore underneath. I mean how could 3 coats be styled perfectly with every single outfit, right? In hindsight, that would explain why I hated covering my outfits with coats. This year, I would say I have been more drawn to coats (long ones specifically) than any other article of clothing and I am living for it. It's funny how the tables turn. I just love seeing how my style has evolved over the years.
I ordered this coat a couple weeks ago. I was doing my usual scroll through Instagram when this popped up and I just knew it belonged in my closet. I'm not much of a leather person which I know is probably a taboo thing to say in the fashion world, but I do LOVE a good leather biker jacket. When I saw this one, I realized that I didn't own a leather trench coat and I most definitely needed to. The color of this trench is absolutely gorgeous in person. It's a rich burgundy with an almost silky/shiny finish when it's in the right light. This isn't an item I would consider an everyday coat, but it's definitely the coat you grab when you have somewhere a little more fancy to go to, or just want to feel ultra chic. I styled it with my usual black turtleneck (the g.o.a.t fall/winter staple), black skinny jeans (mind your business, Gen Z) and black knee high boots. You could take a shot for every time I wrote "coat" in this post. Just kidding. Please do not do that. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
