Hi friends! Welcome back! Let's talk about loafers. If you're following along with the fashion world, even a little bit, then you've definitely noticed that one of the biggest trends right now is loafers. Personally, it's one of my favorite trends, specifically with socks. This is a look that I've been recreating from last spring, then throughout the summer. Now, in the fall, I'm still finding cool ways to style my loafers with socks. Since it's getting cooler out, my favorite way to style them is with a pair of jeans (obviously). There's just something about the pop of white socks between the hem of the jeans and the top of the loafers that's so chic to me.
Loafers are a really great alternative to sneakers if you want to dress up your look a little more, but still want to be somewhat casual. They're also a great alternative to ballet flats (which is also trending), if that's just not really your thing. I like ballet flats on other people, but I feel a little frumpy in them since I'm pretty short, so I like a shoe with a bit of an elevation in the heel. Loafers provide me with the look of a flat shoe without making it feel dowdy.
For this look, the jeans I chose were a little too long to achieve the look I was going for and normally I would just cuff the hem up once or twice, but I wasn't loving how the wash of these jeans looked cuffed so I tried rolling them inside instead and I loved that look much better. I added an oversized grandpa cardigan, a black turtleneck, and some gold accessories to finish it off. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo
