It’s Thrifted: Pt.2

Updated: Jan 24, 2023

Hi friends! Welcome back! So as promised in last week's post, I have more looks to share featuring the coats I thrifted (and kept) recently. The coat I had on in my last post is my absolute favorite thrifted find but this one is a VERY close second. What I love about vintage coats and blazers is that most of them seem to have more of a menswear fit. For whatever reason I feel the most chic in the winter when I'm wearing a coat that looks like it was bought in the men's section. I realize that the oversized dad/grandad look isn't for everyone, but it is 100% for me, especially when it comes to outerwear. This coat is no exception.

I learned my lesson last year about wearing trench coats in the winter. No matter how many layers you have on underneath, you will still be cold. THIS trench however is different. It has a removable wool lining on the inside that provides a little extra warmth than your average trench. I did layer up a bunch underneath but I was pretty warm in this and I know that wouldn't be the case without the lining. It was perfect for this 40 degree day. I said all of that to basically try to convince you guys, yet again, to give thrifting a shot because I never would have found a unique gem like this (for a price that I was willing to pay) at full cost. As for styling, I went super casual (would you expect anything else?) with a baseball cap, cable knit sweater, black distressed jeans, & boots. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
