It's Thrifted: Pt. 3

Hi friends! Welcome back! This week's look is one that you have definitely seen from me a few times already. I realized, after putting it all together, that this outfit felt very familiar, and it's because it is. As I was going through previous outfits I shared, I noticed that I have worn almost this exact same outfit at least 2 other times, but with different pieces that look identical to these. At first I was like, "Oh no, should I scrap these and go with a different look?" Then, I came to my senses and decided that this is a good thing, a great thing in fact. It means I have a go-to outfit formula that makes me feel comfortable and confident and honestly, we really do need to normalize outfit repeating a little more. For those of us who are not the Kardashians and don't have a Kardashian budget, repeating outfits is inevitable and there's literally nothing wrong with that, especially when you found a look that makes you feel good every single time you wear it. It's no secret that I love outer layers (coats, blazers, sweaters, oversized button downs, etc.). It's also no secret that I love denim. I mean, I literally mention all of these things in literally every blog post. So, why fight it? There's no point of wearing something you don't feel great in just to prove that you're capable of keeping up with the trends. It's not sustainable and you'll just end up feeling burnt out. Fashion is supposed to be fun. It's your chance to express yourself in whatever way makes you feel your best and if that means wearing the same look over and over again, then so be it.

I got this trench during my last thrifting trip, along with all of the other coats I picked up (and yes there's more. I went a little nuts). It's hard to tell in the photos but this one is kind of a sage green/grey color which is a little different from my other trenches. It also has a removable fleece lining which is great for colder days. I know I'm a broken record at this point, but seriously guys, find a good thrift store near you and get shopping. I promise you'll find some really great, extremely inexpensive gems that you'll be able to keep for a lifetime. You wouldn't believe some of the things people give away. Trust me on this. I styled it with my usual combo of jeans, a white tee and converse. There's just something about high top converse with jeans that makes me feel really sure of myself. I feel like it creates a nice shape to the legs. Is it just me? Anyway, I've rambled enough for this week. All outfit details (or similar) are listed below. Until next time, tootle sugar plums! Xoxo.
