Hi friends! Welcome back! This week's look is an odd combination of out of my comfort zone, but equally very "me." I say it's out of my comfort zone because I'm not much of a puffer jacket kinda girl. I like them on other people, but for whatever reason, I feel like I'm doing too much when I wear one. I know what you're thinking, "Jamila, you literally had on a bright pink coat with a bright pink blazer and metallic heels a couple weeks ago. It doesn't get much more extra than that." And you're not wrong. It's just that there's extra in a way that makes me feel the most like myself and then there's extra in a way where it feels like I'm trying to force a look that just doesn't really work for me, you know? And, I say it's very "me" because aside from the puffer, the rest of it has my name written all over it.
Now that we're nearing the end of winter, the part of my brain that is constantly thinking about clothes is starting to lean towards spring fashion which makes coming up with winter looks a little more challenging. I remembered I have two additional closets full of coats from previous years that I haven't even thought about this whole winter so I decided to take a look to see what I can dig up. I spotted this leather puffer that I purchased about 2 years ago (when I thought I was a puffer girl, but quickly realized I am not) peaking out of the back of one of the closets and instantly thought of a cute look I wanted to try. Despite feeling like this look isn't something I would normally gravitate towards, I wanted to try something a little different from my usual long coat outfits. I did LOVE this jacket when I bought it initially so I figured, why not? When it was all put together with the pops of pink, I ended up loving the way it came out and felt more like myself than I thought I would. This is why it's important to shop your own closet, you never know what gems you might fall in love with all over again.
