Hi friends! Welcome back! As I mentioned before, I am fully obsessed with belted coats this fall/winter. I just feel like they're so chic and perfect for if you're planning on spending a lot of time outside when it's cold out. I believe I mentioned in a previous post that I used to hate the idea of wearing a coat because I wanted everyone to see my outfit. As an adult, I started to realize that as long as you're equally as in love with your coat as you are with your outfit, it doesn't matter if your outfit is hidden. The key is to make the coat the main focus. What I love about belted coats is that they cinch you in the waist which is always flattering. I prefer to buy mine a size or two bigger because I find that the extra room creates even more of an hour glass figure when you tie the belt. If you're still not convinced about the "closed coat" look, here's what's also great about belted coats: you have the option to leave them open as well and still look just as stylish. As you see in the photos above I styled this coat both ways and personally, I don't think you can go wrong either way.
I've always been very into the olive green and black combo when it comes to cooler weather looks. I just feel like the colors complement each other so perfectly and effortlessly. A lot of times (and this is just my personal opinion) people tend to force colors together that don't necessarily work in order to be "different." Of course, you should always stay true to your own personal style and wear whatever makes you happy, but I like to stick to colors that naturally work together. For example, another fall/winter color combo I love is camel/tan & black. Think about a camel coat (belted or not) with a black sweater, black jeans (pitch black or washed black), black boots, & a black bag. And yes, you can expect to see this exact look in a future blog post. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
