Hi friends! Welcome back! I feel like I've been hinting at this for some time now, but I decided to take my blog in a bit of a different direction. I am still going to do my usual, personal style posts but, going forward, I am also going to sprinkle in some general trend/style guides as well, starting with this one. Every fashion girl's favorite season (fall) is approaching and as you all know, I am no exception. I look forward to this time of year, every single year, and now that stores are starting to put out some amazing fall items, I thought it would be a good time to round up some of my favorite trends of the upcoming season. Also, I just want to make sure I state that most trends come and go so it's way more important to wear what makes you feel good about yourself regardless of what the "trends" are. I am actively trying to remind myself of this every day, which is why the trends I'm going to share are, in my opinion, pretty timeless and have been consistently true to my personal style year after year. Okay, let's get to it!
1) 90's Minimalism/Simple basics
I decided to start with my favorite trend of all and the one you will be seeing me in the most. There is just something so effortlessly chic about 90's fashion. Think white tank tops/t-shirts, blue/black straight leg/baggy jeans, oversized blazers, sweaters, cardigans, trench coats, trousers, oversized button downs, etc.) All of these items are the stars of my wardrobe because they are pieces that will NEVER not be trending, and not only that, but you can re-style them so many different ways which is great for your wallet. You're welcome.
2) Biker Chic
So this one is a bit different for me but I am 1,000% here for it. Again, I try not to follow trends that I think aren't going to last, but I feel like this one falls under the "timeless" category as well. At least it does to me. I don't know that I would ever go head-to-toe, full blown biker girl, but I have always loved leather jackets, graphic tees, black jeans, and chunky boots (not too chunky though). I plan on playing around with some of these items and seeing what fun looks I can come up with. Also, I never knew I needed a brown leather bomber jacket, but that is definitely happening for me this year. Maybe I can be a mild biker girl? Or like soft biker? You know? Am I making sense here? Anyway, stay tuned for my attempt at being as cool as the girls in these inspo photos.
3) Boots (knee high, Chelsea, cowboy)
Obviously, we have to talk about shoes and I'm sure we can all agree that when it comes to fall footwear, boots are unmatched. All of these boots pretty much speak for themselves so I feel like I don't need to go into much detail as to why I chose them as my favorites but I will say this: the western boot trend is HIGH on my favorites list. I used to own a pair of cowboy boots when I was younger and wore them to death so I am so happy this trend is back and I can't wait to add a new pair to my wardrobe, specifically a mid-calf pair. For whatever reason, they're the most flattering to me.
Bonus: Barbiecore
Okay, this one is just for fun, but also kind of not because I am obsessed. I feel like this trend was made for me and honestly, I can't believe it has taken this long for everyone to get on board. Pink has been my favorite color since I was born. I'm not even exaggerating. You guys have probably noticed that if I'm not wearing neutrals, then I'm most likely wearing pink so you can 100% guarantee that I will be participating in this trend. Pink is basically a neutral for me anyway.
