Elevated Basics

Hi friends! Welcome back! I mentioned in a previous post that I have always had a difficult time trying to identify my style. The difference between this week's look in comparison to last week's is the perfect example of that. I can admit that I am a bit all over the place when it comes to my outfit choices. I'm someone who simply chooses what I wear based on what I like as opposed to trying to stick to a particular aesthetic. I love neutrals but I also love some brighter colors. I love comfortable/cozy looks, but I also love a polished, more put together look as well. I don't like to feel limited in what I wear so I just wear it all. Okay, wait. As I'm typing this it literally just came to me. This is exciting! I feel like the one thing that remains consistent within almost all of my outfits is my love for elevating casual pieces. We all know I'm drawn to very casual pieces such as jeans, sweat pants, sweat shirts, & bodysuits. I love taking these basic items that would otherwise seem boring and turning them into a stylish, compliment-worthy look. Elevated basics. That's what I'm labeling my style as. I like it. I'm making it the title of this post.

Okay, let's get into this week's look which is full of basics. I absolutely love a chunky cozy, oversized grandpa cardigan. The chunkier, the better. I got this one a couple years ago and it is still my favorite to this day. It's super oversized so perfect for layering as much as you want underneath which is a must for me. I styled it with a vintage flannel, my go-to turtleneck, jeans, and heeled booties. Looks like these are always my favorite. Minimal effort, maximum cuteness. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
