Effortless Summer Linen

Hi friends! Welcome back! Let's talk linen. It's arguably summer's most beloved and sought after material. It seems like this year in particular, linen is trending more than ever and personally, I am here for it. Believe it or not, I have never owned a loose, flowy pair of linen pants and I felt like this was the year to finally hop aboard that train. If you're someone who owns or has looked into owning 100% linen, I'm sure you have noticed that it is a pretty costly material which is part of the reason it's taken me so long to purchase these pants. The other reason is because I am strangely picky about waistbands. It's impossible for me to describe what exactly it is I look for in waistbands, but for some reason, I just do not like a lot of them. I searched high and low for a pair that I felt was reasonably priced, with the right amount of looseness in the leg and with the right waistband and I landed on this perfect pair from J Crew, after seeing multiple fashion girls rave about them.

Most of the reviews for this pair suggested sizing down but, in true Jamila fashion, I decided to stay true to size and stick to my usual size small. I noticed most of the time, when people say to size down it's because they're not into the super oversized look. I, however, am not one of those people. I wanted these to be wide in the legs and really roomy in the waist so that I can wear them low rise or high rise depending on my preference that day. I definitely made the right decision. I styled them for a beach day with a white linen shirt, black swimsuit and a straw tote bag for an easy breezy, effortless look. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
