Hi friends! Welcome back! I have been trying REALLY hard not to fall into the trend trap this season. I want to focus more on staple, key pieces that will last years, if not forever. It gets pretty exhausting (and expensive) trying to keep up with all the latest trends. I feel like the best way to combat that is to mainly focus on items that you can style over and over again, season after season, year after year. Not only will this save you the stress of fitting in, it will also save you money in the long run. Sure, you think, "Oh this top is so cute and it's only $30," but let's be honest it's never just the one thing and trust me, it adds up quickly. I think it's more important to stock up on good quality staples (even if they're a little on the pricey side) that you know will never go out of style. Now don't get me wrong, as an immense lover of fashion, it's nearly impossible to avoid trends completely, so by all means treat yourself every now and then. My main goal here is to just encourage you to be mindful of it so you don't end up looking at your bank statement and wondering who hacked your account. It was you girl.

Ok guys, do you remember when I was whining in last week's post about waiting for a specific top I ordered to come in? Well, it finally arrived and it is just as perfect as I imagined it would be. I have been mentally planning this outfit for like 3 weeks and in my opinion it was well worth the wait. This top falls into the "treat yourself every now and then" category that I just mentioned above. Will the marble trend fade away quickly? I'm sure of it. Did that stop me from purchasing this shirt? Not even a little. The moment I laid my eyes on this baby, I knew I had to have her. I also purchased this blazer recently after waiting several months for it to come back in stock. It's the same as the blazer I wore in last week's post and I just LOVE the extreme oversized look of it so I had to get it in this desert taupe color as well (hence the title). I thought it would be really cute styled with the marble top and a pair of slim fit washed black jeans. Two little girls complimented me when I was shooting this look, so I guess I was right. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles, sugar plums! Xoxo.
