Classic Comfort

Updated: Aug 8, 2022

Hi friends! Welcome back! It's been a while hasn't it? Really only a couple weeks but it feels like forever. I took a wee little break from blogging because as you all know, as of July 15th, I am a married woman!! Woooo!! A few days after our wedding, my oldest bestie got married as well. Needless to say, it has been a crazy whirlwind these past few weeks, but things are finally starting to settle and I'm ready to get back to it! I know one of the most common questions people ask after someone gets married is, "How does it feel?" My answer is the same answer I've gotten from others when I've asked that same question..."exactly the same as before," but better because now I get to say "my husband" when referring to my man which is the best part for me. I'm going to do a wedding post with full details of our AMAZING big day once we get all of our wedding photos from our incredible photographer, but for now I wanted to get back into my heart and soul, which is fashion blogging.

I've been noticing how much my style has evolved since the beginning of my blogging journey and one thing I've noticed the most is that as I get older, I naturally lean towards more age appropriate pieces. Back in college and my early 20s, I was a short shorts & crop top kinda girl. Now, 31-year-old me looks for comfort and practicality over anything else. Well, okay, if I'm being honest, being fashionable always comes first, but comfort is an extremely close second. Speaking of comfort, I have been debating purchasing a pair of Birkenstock Arizona sandals since the spring, but was holding back for two reasons. One, I have somewhat narrow feet and virtually no calves so I thought they would look a little clown-ish on my feet. Two, if they did end up looking good on me, I wanted to make sure I would get enough use out of them to justify the cost. After months and months of deliberating, I finally decided to take the plunge because I couldn't stop thinking about them and I am SO glad I did. They're adjustable, so you make them wider or more narrow based on the width of your foot and they are SUPER comfy. I know some reviews said they require a bit of a break-in period, but the pair I got were comfortable on the first wear. These will definitely be my go-to sandals until it gets too cold to wear them. I styled them with a breezy linen shirt, denim shorts (the longer the better for me these days), and a baseball cap. It was giving me "effortlessly stylish mom picking up her kid from school." All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
