Hi friends! Welcome back! After what felt like an eternity, January is finally over. What is it about that month that makes it feel like it's never ending? I try not to rush time too much, but I feel like we can all agree that January overstays its welcome every single year. It didn't help that it felt like the sun didn't come out the entire month which did no favors for anyone's seasonal depression. Anyway, we are officially into February and the sun has been shining since February 1st which tells me that good days are ahead!
Okay, enough about the weather. I've kept you in suspense long enough so let's talk about this week's outfit. A couple weeks ago, in my Recent Outfit Roundup post, a couple of the looks featured this chocolate brown suede vintage jacket. It might possibly be my favorite purchase of the winter so far. I am absolutely obsessed with it. I saw another creator that found a very similar one in a vintage shop and as soon as I saw it on her, something ignited within me. It was a rare, random piece that I didn't know I needed in my wardrobe, but all of a sudden I felt like I couldn't live without it. I went on a mad hunt from eBay to Poshmark to Etsy and finally I found the perfect one on Etsy. As someone who wears mostly denim, it's just such an easy, chic piece to throw on and elevate my look. Guys, I can not stress this enough...if you are on the hunt for a leather/suede jacket, do not pay full price. Check out a second hand online shop or try your local thrift stores, but whatever you do, do not pay $400+ for leather. Most times, you want your leather to have a little bit of character anyway so why spend hundreds of dollars on a piece that was made to look like it has character, when you can pay $40 for one that literally does? I also love jackets like these because they're great for layering under an oversized coat in the winter, but you can also transition them into spring or from summer to fall.
I'll link everything I'm wearing, plus some other really great vintage brown jacket options below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
