Hi friends! Welcome back! It is finally starting to feel a little more like spring here in Jersey. This is my first “coat-less” outside shoot since the summer and I’m proud to say that I barely needed one. I mentally prepared to freeze while we took these photos but when we got outside I actually felt pretty comfortable (minus my feet which are literally always freezing whether I have on sandals or winter boots). I have so many cute spring outfit ideas so I’m super excited about the upcoming warmer temps so I can finally start capturing them.
Okay, here’s a confession that you may or may not already know depending on if you follow me on Instagram. I’ve never purchased a vest before. At least not that I can remember. It’s not that I don’t like them. In fact, I love them. The problem is just that they always just seemed impractical to me. And don’t get me wrong, I own a lot of impractical things, but for some reason vests just never made sense to buy for me personally. I always thought of them as jackets without sleeves and it just seemed a little silly to me, so as much as I loved the look of them, I couldn’t bring myself to buy one. Fast forward to one random day in March of 2022 when I laid my eyes on what would be my first ever vest purchase.
I saw this beauty on an influencer (big shocker there) and I knew I needed her in my wardrobe. What made this vest different than the rest you ask? It was the creamy, buttery beige leather for me. In addition to that, because it’s a thin leather material, it’s more of an early fall/spring piece. There’s no confusion as to what temperature it makes sense to wear it in which is my issue with other vests (mainly puffer vests). It’s also a timeless piece that can be styled a million different ways. I can see myself keeping and wearing this forever. I went with an all white look for this shoot and threw on a matching baseball cap to top it off. Solid start to the spring fashion season if I do say so myself.
All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! XOXO.
