An Outfit Love Story

Hi friends! Welcome back! You know that feeling you get when you hate how your hair and/or outfit came out so you're in a bad mood all day because of it? I kind of feel the same way about blog writing. I feel so much less inspired to write a full blog post about an outfit when I'm not in love with the look I put together. Today is definitely not one of those days. This is one of my favorite outfits in a while and I'm really excited about it so I am just going to get right into it.

If you follow any Instagram influencers, I am sure you have seen the infamous high-rise wide leg Zara jeans that have been breaking the Internet. Unfortunately for us shorter girls, as gorgeous as they are, these jeans are entirely too long. This sent me on a crazed search for a similar pair that worked for my height (5'3"). I eventually came across these bad boys and decided to order a pair solely based on the fact that they were such a great price. I honestly didn't expect much from them so when I tried them on and they fit exactly the way I wanted, I was beyond thrilled. The hunt was finally over. Ladies, if you're under 5'5" and looking for a nice pair of straight/wide leg super high-rise denim, this is the pair for you. I was planning on making these the focus of the outfit by styling it with a simple fitted white tee and a crossbody purse, but as I was getting dressed my dream blazer arrived. I have been eyeing this blazer for literally over a year and kept putting it off because it was a little on the pricier end of what I would normally pay for a blazer. I figured I would be able to find something similar for a better price but every time I purchased a black blazer, it just wasn't giving me what I wanted. I wanted a heavyweight, vintage, boxy, super oversized fit. Nothing seemed to compare to this beauty so I caved and it was 100% the right decision. I will never have to purchase another black blazer for as long as I live. Anyway, I decided to throw this on over the white tee and the look just instantly came together. I added a red lip for a little extra sass and that was that! It was love at first sight. All outfit links are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
