Hi friends! Welcome back! It looks like we're finally getting into some bearable summer temps here in NJ, but the weekend temps were brutal to say the least. Jason and I have been talking about spending a day in the city for a while now because we haven't done that since pre-pandemic. Of course we chose one of the hottest days of the summer to do that, but we were determined and it ended up being a great decision. We spent the day visiting some spots we went to and loved before the world shut down and we had the best time.
Our first stop was brunch at Grand Banks, which I have been dying to go back to ever since Jason took me for my birthday a few years ago. The restaurant is basically a deck on an old fisherman's boat that was transformed into a waterside restaurant so I wanted to wear something that said, "I'm going on a boat." Stripes were an obvious choice and a tank top was also an obvious choice because what else do you wear in 95 degrees when you don't want to wear a dress? I styled the tank with a pair of denim shorts (I'm a creature of habit), light brown sandals, a light brown belt, and my Coach bucket bag. I was definitely hot, but I feel like this look was perfect because it was comfortable enough to get me through the heatwave without feeling like I was baking in an oven at 450.
