A Flannel Fall

Hi friends! Welcome back! Well...it's still 80+ degrees in NJ but in the spirit of manifestation, I'm adding little hints of fall pieces to my outfits until I can fully dive in. If there's one item of clothing you can almost guarantee to signify the start of fall, it's a plaid flannel shirt. While flannel shirts have been a fashion staple since the 90s, one of the biggest trends I'm seeing this season is plaid clothing of all kinds. I'm talking jackets, pants, skirts, etc. The fashion girlies are loving all things plaid right now and while I love that for them, I think I'll stick to my oversized shirts and call it a day.
Okay, I got off track a bit, but back to me adding hints of fall into my looks in hopes of summoning cooler weather. Remember when tying a shirt around your waist was out of necessity? Like it was chilly when you put it on, but now it's hot and you need to take it off and you don't feel like holding it? Or when we were teenagers and our little "friend" came for an unexpected visit and now it's all over your pants and you need something to cover it up to save yourself the embarrassment? You ladies know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyway, wearing your flannel over your waist has now gone from a survival move to a fashion statement and I am living for it. It was the perfect way to give my outfit an edgy fall touch without overheating.
All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
