Hi friends! Welcome back! Yes, those are shorts you see. I know it's only April but it was 70 degrees this day and my legs told me they were ready to be out so I listened. When I told you guys I would be wearing a lot of color this spring/summer, I'm realizing I really only meant pink. I might experiment with other fun colors too, but probably not. I know this trend won't last very long and then I'll be left with a random purple blazer that will just sit in my closet for years until the trend comes back or I decide to sell/donate it. It just seems silly to me. Pink isn't necessarily for everyone but I do feel like it's a color that never really goes out of style. As I mentioned a couple posts ago, I have always been in love with the color pink which is dangerous for me because I find myself wanting to purchase every single item I see in this color. Did I need a pink denim overshirt? Not at all. Did I convince myself to buy it anyway because "it will go so well with so many different looks?" Yes, I sure did.

Needless to say, as soon as this shacket came in, I immediately started thinking of a look for its debut and this is what I decided on. I thought cherry blossoms would be a cute background for this outfit and thankfully cherry blossoms are all over where we live so it wasn't hard to find a couple cute locations to shoot some photos. I went with my go-to "soccer mom chic" vibe and honestly, this is one of my favorite spring looks to date! Definitely do not regret this purchase at all; on the contrary, I'm pretty obsessed with it. Stay tuned for more outfits featuring pink items that I 100% did not need to buy, but bought anyway because why not? I should make this a series. Anyway, all outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo

Hi friends! Happy Tuesday! This past weekend was a busy but exciting one. I officially have a bridal party AND we looked at our first wedding venue! I'm so excited to be getting the ball rolling with our wedding planning. I'm already super stressed but it's the best kind of stress. That's all I'll say about that for now. I'll update you guys more when we find our venue and have an official date. I usually take blog pictures on Saturday, but because of how much we had going on, I decided not to stress myself out thinking of a fun spring look. Instead, this week, you're getting the reality of what I usually have on.

So by now you guys know how much I love a sweat set. They have been my pandemic go-to. I've mentioned before that I'm not one of those people that gets dolled up just to sit at home. I refuse to get dolled up if I don't have anywhere to go, but I also don't want to feel like a slob everyday. Since I can't bear to wear anything but sweatpants when I'm home, I feel like matching sweats are the perfect way to stay comfy but still look cute and put together. I got this set from my favorite sweat set brand, Girl Knows All. Every single set I own is from this brand. I have searched high and low and I have yet to come across any brand that delivers a fit this perfect. This is not to knock other brands that sell sweats, I'm sure those are great too, but I'm very picky about how I like my sweatpants/shorts to fit. For me, personally, GKA is the only one that checks all the boxes. What are those boxes you ask? Well I'll tell you. Drawstring at the waist (preferably on the inside), loose in the thighs (but not so loose that it looks sloppy), and cinched at the ankles. In my opinion, sweatpants that include those 3 features create the most flattering fit and this brand nails it. I'm also a sucker for cool sweatshirts that make me seem like I've traveled the world so it's all just a big fat yes from me. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo

Hiya friends! Welcome back! This week’s look is another result of me planning an outfit in my head that ends up looking horrible because I didn’t bother to try it on ahead of time. I'll learn one day. Probably not. I stood in front of my mirror for 30 minutes with just this pair of jeans on because for the life of me I could not figure out what top I wanted to wear with it. Valuable sunlight was being wasted and my anxiety was through the roof so I ended up going with what I call a foolproof solution. A crisp, bright white tee.

I have already given a few tips for creating simple and effortlessly stylish looks but this one is by far the easiest. If you’re in an outfit bind and quickly need to get out the door, look no further than your best fitting pair of jeans and your cleanest, whitest t-shirt. I know wearing jeans and a white tee sounds so bland and honestly sometimes it can be, but with the right styling you’ll be surprised by how chic you’ll end up looking. So here is the tea. If you throw on any old pair of ill fitting jeans or a dingy white shirt with brown pit stains (don’t act like you guys don’t know what I’m talking about) then yes, you probably won’t get the look you’re going for. In order to create optimal chic-ness with this very basic look you will need, as I mentioned before, a crisp white tee and a pair of jeans that makes you feel super confident. The color and style doesn’t really matter. I prefer to tuck my shirt in because it makes me feel more put together. Tucking also extenuates the waistline which creates a nice shape. Then all you need is your shoe of choice, some jewelry and a cute little purse. Pro tip: because this look is so simple, it leaves room to have a little fun in other areas like a red lip or a bright colored pair of shoes. You can’t go wrong really! Alright, I feel like I’ve rambled enough for this week. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo
