Hi friends! Welcome back! That’s right. Your girl has officially said goodbye to her 20’s. Yesterday was my 30th birthday and I have so many feelings, way more than I can put into words. I think the best, and simplest way to describe how I feel about entering this new decade is bittersweet. Everyone tells you that your 20’s are the best years of your life and that everything goes downhill after that. I say speak for yourself. I’ve spent the last 10 years being terrified of turning 30 and now that it’s here I’m feeling better than ever! I realized that every year until now has been filled with uncertainty about who I am and what I want out of life, feeling insecure & uncomfortable in my own skin, going through life being who I thought I was supposed to be/who the people in my life expected me to be. Now, in my third decade, I say screw that! I’m turning over a new leaf by being unapologetically myself at all times. I am no longer allowing anyone to make me feel like I’m anything but the awesome, kindhearted person that I am. This is 30!

Okay, enough of that. Let’s talk about this look now. Can you guys even believe it? I am wearing a dress! A full blown dress. Your eyes are not deceiving you. Honestly, I really just am not a fan of how I look in most dresses which is why I don’t wear them very often. Part of me entering this new chapter of life means learning to feel confident wearing certain items that I don’t necessarily feel comfortable in. When I saw this dress something about it spoke to me so I ordered it without expecting much. When I tried it on I couldn’t believe how cute it looked. I had nowhere to wear it to at the time but when I was thinking about my birthday outfit I figured this would be perfect and it was! I styled it with a pair of nude strappy heeled sandals and my new favorite little purse (a birthday gift from my love) and I felt like the belle of the ball! All outfit details are listed below as always. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo

Hi friends! Welcome back! Last week a few of my blogger friends teamed up on Instagram to style our favorite denim trends for the spring. One of my personal favorites is mid-length shorts, which I talked about briefly a couple of posts ago. I will be 30 in less than a week so at my age, there are certain articles of clothing that I just don't feel comfortable or confident in anymore. Super short shorts are definitely high up on that list. Thankfully, shorts with longer hems are becoming more and more popular. I also feel like longer hems just look a lot more chic when it comes to dressing up your shorts. I am someone who wears shorts literally all summer long. I'm not much of a skirt or dress girl, but I do love to dress up which is hard to do in super short cut offs in my opinion. They just don't give me the same chic-ness (not a word) that mid-length/Bermuda shorts do. Am I making sense?

So for the denim style session I put together a "late spring/early summer date night" look. I added an extra look for the purpose of this blog post. For the first outfit, I styled my absolute favorite shorts with a white cropped tank top, an oversized tan blazer, and matching heeled sandals. The second look is pretty similar but slightly more casual. I styled a more fitted, more distressed pair of mid-length shorts with a graphic tee, a black blazer and black heeled sandals. The first look would be my go-to outfit for a nice outdoor dinner date. I would probably wear the second look for brunch/lunch with the girls. Now that I'm finally starting to get back out into the world, I'm mentally planning outfits for every outdoor activity that I feel comfortable attending. I spent a whole year planning outfits solely for blogging and giving you guys style tips, so it feels so weird to actually have places to wear these outfits. What a time, huh? As always, all outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo

Hi friends! Welcome back! Phew, what a weekend! Now that I am fully vaccinated I am working on slowly but surely getting my life back on track which is super exciting. After over a year of isolation, Jason and I are trying to ease our way into doing some of the things we love like outdoor dining and spending more time with our family and friends. It's such a liberating feeling but also, my body has gotten so used to sitting on the couch that if I do even one big thing during the day I feel like I ran a marathon. Last weekend we had a bunch of content to shoot for an exciting week of posts which took up most of our day on Saturday. Then we decided to treat ourselves to a nice outdoor dinner at a restaurant we have been wanting to go to. Honestly, dining out might be one of my favorite things to do ever. I get so much joy out of having a meal and a glass of wine outside of my own home. I missed it so much. Sunday was Jason's grandma's birthday so we had a family get-together outside by her pool. It was the first time so much of the family was together at once and it was surreal but amazing. Needless to say, I am officially pooped! Okay, none of what I just rambled about has anything to do with this post but I just needed to express my happiness for a minute. Anyway, let's get into this outfit shall we?

I wasn't too sure about the cropped blazer trend at first, but it definitely grew on me and now, dare I say, I might even love it! I've seen this blazer in particular on a few different influencers and I just loved the color and how cool it looked on everyone. I wouldn't say this is one of those items that goes with everything, but it looks awesome when it is styled properly. I find that cropped blazers style best with high waisted jeans/pants which works for me because that's basically all I wear anyway. For this look, I went with a pair of distressed white denim, a cropped tank top, heeled sandals, my go-to sunnies, and some dainty accessories. Wait, guys can we just talk about these jeans for a second? They are such a flattering and comfortable fit. They have lots of stretch which is rare for a straight leg pair of jeans and the best part? They were only $22. Run ladies, don't walk. All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo
