Hi friends! Welcome back! It finally has been feeling like winter these last couple of weeks and I know I'm probably in the minority here but I LOVE it. I've realized, in my adult life, just how much I love cold weather. I love bundling up and I love layers. I tend to get uncomfortably hot very quickly so I just don't feel like I can live my best fashion girl life in the warmer months because all I care about is staying cool. That basically leaves me with shorts and tank tops as my only options. Don't get me wrong, I love shorts and I love tank tops, but you know what's even better than that? When it's 30 degrees out and you get to wear multiple items from your closet that you love all at once.
Okay, so speaking of layers, remember a few posts ago I mentioned that trench coats are not for the cold weather no matter how hard you try to make it work? Well, thankfully, the same does not go for blazers. As you all very well know by now, I am a MAJOR fan of blazers, and not just any blazers, they MUST be oversized. And not just slightly oversized, I'm talking two to three sizes too big. Enough to fit four sweatshirts underneath and still have room. The downside to this is that wearing coats over them is nearly impossible. It was about 30 degrees when we shot this look and I knew it would be a struggle to get a coat over this blazer. Plus, I wanted the blazer to be the main focus. I piled on a tank top, a long sleeved shirt, a heat tech turtleneck, and a fleece lined hoodie underneath. All of that in combination with my fleece lined leggings, thick socks and beanie...I might as well have been wearing a full blown down North Face coat. I couldn't believe how warm I was with no real coat on. Do I suggest ditching your coats and wearing blazers only all winter long? Maybe not, but it's good to know in case you ever find yourself stuck in a situation like mine. All outfit details are listed below. Until Next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
