Hi friends! Welcome back! I have to be honest, been in a bit of a creativity slump lately. I'm really struggling to put together outfits that I feel really excited about. Last week's outfit was my absolute favorite so I keep comparing every other look I think of to that one. I almost feel like I set the bar too high at the beginning of the year and now I'm trying too hard to keep up. The reality is every outfit isn't going to be THE outfit. What's important is that I remind myself that the goal of this blog isn't to try to compete with myself to see how much better my outfits can get. The goal of this blog is to continue to create stylish, everyday looks that anyone can recreate. I have an endless amount of ideas for that.
It's funny that I just said I have an endless amount of ideas for everyday looks because this week's look was 90% put together by Jason. Whenever I am struggling to come up with a look he just starts spitting out random items of clothing I have and tells me that's the outfit. To be honest, it usually works. I usually end up using at least one of the pieces he mentions. This was one of those times. His idea was to wear the plaid shirt with a white turtleneck underneath, black jeans or leather leggings and boots. As you can see, I went with 3 out of 4 items he suggested. I decided on dark blue jeans instead of black because I felt like it went better with the navy blue in the shirt. I rarely wear dark denim because most of the time I just feel very underwhelmed by dark washes for whatever reason. Anyway, I figured this was a good opportunity to style them since darker denim is more popular in the winter months. I am very pleased with how this look turned out. Thanks my love! All outfit details are listed below. Until next time, tootles sugar plums! Xoxo.
